Do You Have To Water Hydroseed?

Hydroseeding is a type of soil improvement method in which dry, shredded vegetation is broadcast onto the soil surface.

Wet Hydroseeding

In wet hydroseeding, shredded vegetation is mixed with water and then broadcast on the soil surface. Once applied, the grass seed dries, germinates, and grows naturally.

Dry hydroseeding is a method of preparing a soil surface for planting by applying a layer of dry material, such as sand or pea stone, to the soil surface.

So Do You Have To Water Hydroseed?

In most cases, the answer is no. When hydroseeding is done properly, it can be done in dry weather without any need for watering.

If the soil is too soft, you will find that the seeds will not come out easily. However, this can be avoided by adding sand or gravel to the soil.
