Spiderwort sun or shade is a debatable topic with most gardeners preferring to grow it under the sun while others prefer the shade. This plant is a favorite wildflower popularly grown by many gardeners.
These plants do well in partial shade but also do well in sunny areas as long as the soil is kept well moisturized. You can grow these plants indoors or outdoors and they will thrive.
Once flowering has ceased, cut back the plants to promote a second bloom and prevent re-seeding. Cut the stems back to about 8 to 12 inches from the ground. You can divide the plants in spring every three years or so.
